Beautiful jewelry has always been of interest to both of us. We admired and enjoyed shopping for jewelry often, and eventually became interested in gemstones. During a cruise to the Bahamas a few years ago, Carnes purchased a few loose stones, which sparked a passion and led him to a fairly large collection after a time. The collection began with some actual mining for stones along the Eastern United States, and he even panned for gold. We learned a great deal about the rough stones first, and as our “rock collection” grew, saw the opportunity to make some interesting pieces of jewelry of our own design. We try to focus on the semi precious stones, but do mix with sterling silver, gold, copper, brass, nickel, glass, and many other interesting combinations in our designs.
We began our small business by traveling to craft shows and festivals, and still do many shows in the eastern states. On occasion, we do home shows and also design one of a kind bridal jewelry. Lately, we are working with a wonderful boutique in our area to design one of a kind pieces to match the latest fashions. Our friends and family are great customers for us and they are also a good test market for new items. We are constantly working on fresh ideas and enjoy doing custom work or searching for special pieces of jewelry for our growing number of customers. We are still learning the business of the web and welcome any suggestions.
